This Station is in the Basement of a four story Building, which made running Coax a real chore. We made the run through an Elevator shaft to the roof. The longest run of cable is 244 feet. Most of the runs use 1/2" Andrews Hardline and 1/4" "Superflex" for the connecting jumpers.
The Station consists of the following equipment;
Icom IC-737A HF Radio connected to a 40/80 meter dipole
and Cushcraft R-5 Vertical
Icom IC-281H VHF Radio connected to a AEA Isopole
Icom IC-281H VHF Radio connected to a Diamond Tri-Band antenna
Kenwood 201B VHF Radio connected to a Cushcraft ARX-270
Icom IC-481H UHF Radio connected to a Cushcraft ARX-270
Icom IC-38A VHF(220) Radio connected to a AEA Isopole
Packet Radio station with the following:
AEA PK-900 driving a Icom IC-737A operating pactor and a Kenwood TR7400
to connect to the local Node YKM
This station is on the air at all times, unless voice traffic is needed
on HF, (Radio is shared) Pactor Frequency is 3626.1 LSB and is part of
a state wide net.
Amateur Television:
PC Electronics 10 watt transceiver (440 Mhz)
PC Electronics 1.2 Ghz Downconverter
We are able to send and receive ATV pictures
We also operate a Sheriffs office radio, Red Cross/Cemnet radio, and a Radio to access a GMRS Repeater
Power for all this equipment is provided from 2 RS-20 Astron power supplys
and 1 RS-35. The building is supported with a generator in the event of
power failure, and it is registered as a fallout shelter.
